Fleet week

Fleet week is quite possibly one of my most favorite weeks of the year now that we live in the bay area.   I mean, c'mon, it's not just every day that you see sailors walking down the street in their uniforms! See?
But, the best part of fleet week has got to be the performance by the Blue Angels.  Holy c'moly are they amazing!  Once, I got to ride in a small plane at our local hometown airport.  We did one barrel roll and I thought I was going to lose my lunch. Clearly, I'm not cut out to be a Blue Angel (or ride a roller coaster, for that matter).  Luckily, I do love to watch the airplanes do ridiculous stunts that I can't believe there is a living breathing, non-barfing pilot behind the wheel of the plane.  Meanwhile, I enjoy the sights on stable, dry land.

Because I took exactly 238 pictures in the course of 45 minutes, I wanted to share with you a little flip cartoon book of sorts.  Scroll down really really quickly and it's almost like you were standing right next to me.  I'd like to think that the 238 makes up for the fact that last year we went to fleet week and right as the Blue Angels were about to start, the fog rolled in and the planes were forced to land.  This year, as you can see was really really nice.  So nice, in fact, that we completely overdressed and could have wrung sweat out of our shirts (pleasant, I know, but I just really want to make you feel as if you were right there with Mike and me.)  And really I wish you were there, because it's pretty fun, come join us next year.  We'll have a hoot of a time, sweaty shirts and all.

Looks looks really cool Ann. The sky was beautiful and clear as could be. Glad you had fun. I am not made for rolling around in the air either, my stomach or heart just can't take it:)
