On a walk one day, I stumbled upon this house and car. No really, I seriously stumbled. Like right in front of the house. Which is why I took notice to such a pretty house and truck that I thought might just belong on the set of Forest Gump. But nope, this pretty house belongs right where it is, so that every time I have two left feet and take the dog for a walk in this neighborhood, I can stumble and admire it.

restaurant: postino
Lafayette's Postino might be my most favorite restaurant in all of the East Bay. Actually, I've just decided. It is indeed, my favorite. The character, the food, the outdoor couches, propane warming thingys (yep, pretty sure that's the actual term) and wine...hello! What could be better?!?!
Postino is the spot we like to take out of town guests. The fig flat bread starter won my heart a few years ago and I've been such a fan of figs and this place. It is the spot we celebrated our 2nd anniversary and it is the spot that Barkley is dying to hang out on their lawn just because it's such a sunny happy place. (Seriously, our dog has great taste.)

breakfast
Can I tell you something?
I love France. Love Paris, love Parisians (just not that ONE waiter who fulfilled the rude Parisian stereotype), love all things about their culture, their food, their style, their way of life.
So, it comes to my surprise that right under my nose for about the last two years, there has been a chain of restaurants that are popping up in every town in the East Bay - La Boulange.
I love it there. It's a shame that it took us so long to actually try one out. Now that we have, I am totally hooked, give me the weekend paper, a spinach and mushroom omelet and one of their cappuccinos the size of my head and I'll be the happiest girl in the entire world.
