wine: Recovery Red

Recovery Red was given to us by our generous house guests a few weeks ago.  The label is by far the most entertaining of all the labels we have seen in quite some time...and extra fitting since both of our house guests and Mike and I have work or do work in the financial industry.  Although the wine tasted like something you would enjoy at church, the label is the best part.  And just to make sure you can enjoy it...and not strain your eyes to read it from the pictures, I've typed it all out below.

  • Blend: We've included multiple grape varieties and economic regions to ensure a broad based recovery.
  • Taste: Rough at 7,500 points, more palatable at 9,000 and more enjoyable anytime over 10,000.
  • Food Pairings: (this one is my fav) Ideal with bull, makes bear more tolerable, highly recommended if eating crow.
  • Full Disclosure: 1) No federal bailout money was used to produce this wine. 2) None of our employees received bonuses in excess of $250,000.

The witty folks of Spann Vineyards in Kenwood, California brought us this wine. Way to go!
