bananas

Holy Bananas Batman! Two years ago today this blog was born!  And what a two years it has been.
[this was Barkley's 1st birthday treat, she was nice enough to share it with the blog's birthday as well - in theory, it's still a dog treat after all.  She's such a giver!]

We have officially been living in California longer than we ever lived in our house in Minnesota (which is still strange to me).  We've lived through the uncertainty of nearly losing jobs, to Mike taking a new job, to me quitting my job and working for Mike.  We've (OK, just me) turned 30, become parents to the most wonderful westie in the whole wide world and Mike has put 60,000 miles on his car for work.  We've explored Northern California from Hearst Castle to Yosemite to Point Reyes - and many places in between.  We could ride the cable car 'til the cows come home.  We've learned what french oak can do to make a glass of wine taste lovely.  We may never try all the wineries in Napa and Sonoma, but we are prepared to try.

And every time we drive around the bend and see the Golden Gate Bridge, my heart skips a beat.
This truly is a wonderful place to live.

Awww . . . I feel the same way about living in the bay area. My favorite view is when you're driving down 101 from Marin, about to cross the GG Bridge into SF, and you go through that tunnel, and suddenly you see the incredible view to the left of the city, Alcatraz, etc . . . it's breathtaking. :)
